Kent Stainless worked closely with Skanska in 2009 to deliver unobtrusive, stainless steel manhole covers for this historic site. Skanska's overall brief to deliver the £8 million regeneration with an improved and less cluttered streetscene was greatly helped by Kent Stainless' ability to provide bespoke, yet modular covers with consistent identification and load class ratings.
The covers included single tray, double tray, multi tray B125 and D400 covers in various locations throughout the city. All structural calculations were performed on our 3D modelling software Solid Works and Solid Edge, and simulation of a 44 ton vehichle wheel load on unfilled manholes was carried out physically on our in-house manhole test rig.
Project delivered On Time and In Budget.
Outline of the Project Requirements:
- Stainless steel recessed manhole covers
- Various loadings required - mainly B125 and D400
- Single, double and multi tray covers were supplied
- Laser Cut Inscriptions on lifting points
