DESCRIPTION

Battersea Power station is an old decommissioned coal fired power station located on the south bank of the river themes, in Nine Elms Battersea, an inner-city district of South-West London. Being one of the city’s best known landmarks, it was grade II listed which made redevelopment of the area complex. The contract of redevelopment was awarded to LDA Design and Maylim Ltd. who specified Kent Stainless to carry out manufacturing of street furniture. The street furniture manufactured by Kent Stainless included The Kent Swivel Seat, Rectangular Planter, Stairway ventilation grille and two types of Bicycle Stands. The products produced by Kent Stainless were manufactured with Grade 316 Stainless. The Swivel seat and the Battersea bench were manufactured with a grade 316 Stainless steel frame and finished with Iroko hardwood timber which was dipped three times in Danish oil to ensure longevity. The Products produced by Kent Stainless were designed specifically to fit the streetscape of the Battersea courtyard.
