The Kent Hidden Curved Streetscape Slot Drain Channel KHCSC125/130/30-14 is a highly effective drainage solution specifically engineered for public realm landscapes. Designed to integrate seamlessly with any radius or paving layout, the system can be manufactured to suit almost any curve on a project. For very long slow radii the body of the trench drain can be kept straight with the slot curved on top. Then for tighter radius projects the full body and slot are curved.
As standard, the system features a 125mm (4.9in) width with a 100mm (3.9in) throat height and a 14mm (0.6 in) slot opening is situated below paving which tapers in slightly to give a 10mm (0.39 in) ADA compliant opening at finished ground level. The channel units are typically manufactured in 990mm (39in) lengths and are easily joined on site using provided connectors and the last length can be blocked with an end cap. The radius is always bespoke and 2 examples shown below are a typical minimum and maximum we have manufactured.
The unit is typically manufactured from Grade 316 Stainless Steel, providing superior corrosion resistance in high-traffic urban environments where de-icing salts are frequently used. The system is fully modular and includes four core components: the Hidden Curved Slot Channel, Recessed Access Covers, Outlet Points and Access Points. For ongoing maintenance, we recommend the installation of a Recessed Access Box combined with an Outlet or Access Point every 10–12 meters (30-36 ft).
Even on radius slot drain the access box is often a straight sided rectangular box. However, for tighter radius projects, a box with 2 curved walls can be specified.
The load classification standard used in the UK and EU is EN1433, and loading ‘B125’ will suit most applications for this product. In the USA & Canada the most appropriate load class is ‘Medium Duty’ from ASME A112.6.8 or CSA B79.8.
