Dye Pen Testing
Also referred to as Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) , Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Liquid Penetrant Examination (LPE) or Liquid Pentrant Testing (LPT).
This is a very commonly used form of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) here in Kent Stainless. This is a low cost, versatile and easy to implement procedure. But it is a critical check for any potential material flaws & is done by applying a very thin liquid to the test area (by aerosol in this case) and draw this liquid out through any imperfections with a chalk/powder type application on the underside. There are no imperfections detected in the test here today so this short trench drain with a double contained pipe outlet is now ready to have the welds pickled and passivated by submersion in our 7m/21ft tank
When designing drainage for a Pharmaceutical Factory, Quality Control is of paramount importance.
