Hinged Solo Chequer

Kent Hinged Solo Chequer Manhole access cpvers KHSCHQ-600/600, are solid top manhole access covers with a raised ‘chequer plate’ surface. They are used where opening the manhole is more frequent, where a single operator may arrive on-site and where maintenance personnel may not have access to specialised lifting equipment.

They are manufactured in accordance with EN 124 and FACTA standards and they are made from grade 304L or grade 316L stainless steel as standard. The material can be changed to galvanised mild steel when required and there is also a double sealed version available. They contain all the features of our Kent Solo Chequer manholes and are hinged with a robust stainless steel hinge. We use gas struts for smaller sizes and for larger sizes we use Kent lift-assist Mechanical struts to allow a manhole to be opened with a force compliant with manual handling regulations.
