Non-Mechanical Finishing
After Fabrication and Welding we use Expert Finishing techniques to improve the functional and the aesthetic qualities of the stainless steel.
Passivation is a non-electrolytic process and results in a finish that is contaminant-free surface and has enhanced corrosion resistance. Kent Stainless passivate by immersion in a 7m x 3m x 1.5m tank containing a diluted acid which dissolves surface contaminants. It cleans without brightening the surface.
Electropolishing uses an electrical current inside an acid bah to remove microscopic particles of contaminant and achieves a smoother finish and can remove heat tint and oxide scales. It is particularly suitable to the medical, pharmaceutical, and food sectors where super hygienic regimes are in place. Kent Stainless electropolish by immersing the products in a 7m x 2.4m x 1.9m bath containing temperature-controlled electrolyte and an electric current is applied – this results in the outer layer being dissolved
Mechanical Finishing
Our Bead Blasting Facilities are housed in a 20mx 12m dedicated blast room and we can apply blasting and peening allow over to large products up to 15m x 8m. Bead Blasting is particularly good to get a non-directional polished finish on products with complex geometries. It is also good for adding slip resistance to drain covers in barefoot areas
We also have a Flat Bed Polishing Machine, a Deburring machine, a Tube Polisher, and many manual hand polishing stations
